Cheer is upset about her fallen status: “I’m not as sexy as the other girls”
Actress “Cheer” Tikumporn admitted that she is upset about her fallen status from her usual role as leading Nang Aek. Lately it seems the actress is not been given the lead role like she used to back in the days when she first started out in the biz.
“Am I upset? Well I am a little but it’s up to the executives from the channel to decide what opportunity to give me. I have spoken to them but not seriously and I understand that in this industry there’s new and old and I am feeling it but it’s okay. I understand it’s about talent and right now I’m about to graduate from university so I’ll just wait till I’m done with school. As for work, I’ll leave it up to the Executives, whatever they give me I will do my best with it”
So you’re not talented enough?
“It depends on how you want to look at it. I’m not beautiful or sexy like the others but I will do my best in whatever is given to me. It depends on a lot of factors too and also opportunity. There are some things that I haven’t been given the opportunity to try, if I get to I will do my best in it, it’s not like I’m not trying”
What did you say to the executives?
“I haven’t spoken to them in a serious sense because lately I’m used to getting sitcom roles and with that it makes it harder for me to get an opportunity to take on other type of roles and I want to play other roles”
Because you’re not sexy, you feel it’s a disadvantage?
“(laughs) even though I am not as sexy as the other girls but if they give me a sexy role I can do it. The role might not suit me but as an actress I should be able to play all roles, however too sexy would probably be too much”

i like cheer a lot … she is different form the others …
She’s cute tomboy looking girl and okay actress. She should let a little more of the leading roles in movies. She should be able to also be a different character in movies. Play sexy,supporting roles,and leading roles. I don’t think it should matter much as long as there’s a job for her in lakorns.
Okay I am fed up with “it’s up to the executive,” do Thai actresses have any back bone? Stand up for yourself girl. If you want nang ek role, push up your game. Cheer has potiential, show them what you are made of and that you are capable to take on any roles.
I would definitely turn down a lakorn that is senseless *cough-cough* Phom Ruk Roy Adeed LMAO I remember reading two articles where the actress said that they were given the role, they couldn’t be picky. Um… I forgot who it was exactly but oh gosh.

^It really is UP to the executives, no joke! It’s not Hollywood here. Why do you think there are contracts with channels? Because all of the power lies with the executives on who to promote, which lakorns to certain actors/actresses, primetime or evening, and how many lakorns per year with which costars. Even if Cheer was to push up her game, it may be too late. Her time to shine may have already passed. Even if Cheer changed 360 degrees, she still has a dead contract with Channel 7, so it still depends on the executives. Yes, all celebrities can’t be picky, netizens will basically kill their careers if they were known to be picky with jobs and projects.
Babe it may never be too late if you’re determine to do it.

Anyways so that means they can’t deny the lakorn script given to them?
It depends. Some projects, they can’t. Even Aum P., the highest A-List actress of Ch. 7 couldn’t reject the lakorns with Aou and Stefan in the past. Some can pull out due to scheduling or other reasons but it’s not a good thing to cross the executives negatively. It’s like, if you reject one of their offers, they’re less likely to place you in another one if an opportunity shall arise.
Cheer can reject the sitcoms to make room for future lakorns but some work is better than none. It’s uncertain that if she makes room for lakorns, would she even receive any so it’s just better to not step on any toes with rejecting when you’re already not one of their favorites. Everything is politics. Cheer should be a bit happy that at least she’s not getting bad diva roles so the chances of her leading a new lakorn is still there but perhaps it’s the timing that isn’t right.
Cheer is pretty good and she’s not like other and it’s true the more cute or sexy you are the more work you get, Thats why Thailand is not growing, they are too much into look and not the talent.
I really like Cheer. She’s funny, and she’s pretty. She’s just an all around like-able girl. But I’m going to be honest here. She’s not that good of an actress. Her acting skills are not as good as actresses around her age (and I mean girls like Kwan, Pancake, and Pinky).

Please think carefully, and thoroughly before you respond to people’s comments. In no way did I diss Cheer. It’s constructive criticism. I just said her acting wasn’t as good as others her age. The reference to Kwan, Pancake, and Pinky is just a comparison of their acting skills, not their looks. I even said that she was pretty, and an all around like-able girl.

Preaw: I don’t know if you read Thai news or not but I do. I don’t just read this blog or Lyn’s blog and think I know everything because not everything is translated and posted on here. Some people like Kwan while others don’t but out of the new generation of actress at Ch. 7, I’ve read more praises and critics’ approval in regards to Kwan’s acting than her peers. So no, it’s not 5555 saying that Kwan is a good actress, there have been articles on it so it’s not only Kwan fans that think she’s a good actress that is blooming, a lot of people do.
I dont bcause I dont live in thailand and cant read thai. Where did you find that article, I really want to see it and it’s true some people hate her and some people like her face
To be honest, I’m not going to waste my time finding those articles. They were published a few months ago, I read from many different sources so I wouldn’t be able to tell you which newspaper.
Second, sorry, I’m not like this blog, I don’t have an index of my memory as to what I’ve read in the past so it’s going to take time for me to search for it and that I simply don’t want to. I hope you understand.
And it may seem like I made it up since I can’t find the sources but no, I’m not that immature. It’s really up to you whether you believe it or not. I have to agree with Tofu, Cheer is not that great of an actress. She’s a great person but that alone doesn’t bring interest to a lakorn. Her looks and personality doesn’t fit a lot of the characters too.

Kob got promoted and she’s not sexy but her looks and personality fits a lot of roles. Kwan wasn’t sexy before and she too got promoted cus she has talent.

Preaw: Actresses like Aum, Yard, Chompoo, and now Pinky are overdoing the sexy concept, too many skin photoshoots become unclassy after a while. BUT the whole “you get promoted if you’re sexy” IS NOT TRUE. If anything, the falling stars who try to ignite their careers do very sexy photoshoots in hopes of gaining some attention like Nat Avitra.
The ones who do the most unclassy sexy shoots are the divas like Mai and Luktarn.

Aum, Yard, Chompoo, and Pinky were already leading actresses with bright futures way before shedding clothes so there is a difference. Whether they do sexy shoots or not, they have a strong enough image to remain as leads. And the concept has to match them too or else it may seem like they’re trying too hard and may backfire like Cheer. Not everyone or just anyone who goes sexy can lead a lakorn.

If Cheer had that much talent, I’m sure she wouldn’t be all the way in the back of the bus AND don’t be like Cheer who blames the industry for being too sexy for her and how she can’t catch up to remain a leading actress. The ET industry is tough.
